February 10th – 20th, 2005: International Editing and Book Fair of Casablanca

Within the framework of the activities organized to celebrate its twenty years spent at the service of research and culture, the Foundation took part this year in the International Editing and Book Fair of Casablanca. The stand of the Foundation where some rare books, manuscripts, and publications of this institution were exposed, was also a place where visitors could make bibliographic research using the on-line catalog of the Foundation (on its website www.fondation.org.ma) and have information about its various scientific and cultural activities and the conditions of access to its library. Among the great number of visitors, many were really surprised to discover the Foundation and what it undertakes, whereas others did not hesitate to make suggestions to the Foundation in order to further its impact and widen its beneficiary public. We retain some of them:

– To allow people who wish to get information and read to have access to the library's collections though they do not have the status of researchers.
– To place the various conferences and proceedings of colloquiums on DVD at the disposal of the public.
– To provide the readers of the library with reproduction machines in color.

This presence within the International Editing and Book Fair made it possible to sell 282 copies of the documents published by the Foundation. The purchase concerned 34 titles.
