Professor Hassan Rashiq with the participation of professor Hassan Taleb presented and discussed: [The close and the distant]: a century of anthropology in Morocco] القريب والبعيد قرن من الأنثربولوجيا بالمغرب

If this book takes Morocco as a model of scientific anthropological reading, the accountability of anthropological approaches and concepts and their level of realization in the field is one of the main concerns that has preoccupied the anthropologist Hasssan Rashiq. Insofar as the book is a reading of anthropological texts on Morocco, it is essentially a critical and interactive approach based on critiquing the principles of the foundations of anthropological propositions and deconstructing them from the standpoint of the sociology of knowledge. Since there is no anthropological approach that transcends time and space, and that is separated from concrete cultural phenomena, Hassan Rashiq prefers to test the foundations of the Western anthropological approach adopted in many texts about Morocco ( Edmund Doughty, Oakst Milleras, Charles de Foulcault, Emile Lawost, Ernet Kellner, Clifford Kertz and others) , and to dismantle its previous ideological assumptions in the light of the most famous anthropological and sociological propositions. Thus, he extends a fine bridge between theory and practice through an interview with some prominent figures in the field of sociology (Kart Popper, Karl Mannheim, Robert Merton, Raymond Bowdon and others) and the field of modern anthropology (theories of Evence Pritchard, Clifford Kurtz, and Ernst Kilner). Thus, this book goes beyond the framework of the study, of Morocco as a model, to be included in a more comprehensive history of Western anthropology, its theories and concepts. It is really a theoretical contribution to the knowledge of the development of the anthropological perspectives regarding the other’s culture, and its exploration it in order to understand and represent it.
