Gerardo de Cremona Translation Award
On Friday, October 4th,2019, ceremony of handing over Gerardo de Cremona translation award was held at Ptolemy School of Translators in Spain, and was funded by the three institutions, namely: Ptolemy School of Translators in Spain, the Municipality of Cremona in Italy and the King Abdul-Aziz Al Saud Foundation for Islamic Studies and Human Sciences in Casablanca.
The representative of the University of Castia Lamancha hands over the award to Professor Hamid Al Ashab.
The award was attributed this year to the following translators and institutes:
- Translators award (north Mediterranean basin)
Salvadore Pena Martan: Professor at the University of Malaga and translator of classical Arabic patrimony, like the books of Al Maari, and “One Thousand and One Nights”, and the contemporary Arabic novel.
- Translators award (south Mediterranean basin)
Hamid Al Ashab: Professor of psychology and pedagogy in Austria and translator of Erich Fromm’s works and other modern German philosophical texts.
- Institutes Award (north Mediterranean basin)
The translation service at the Spanish committee of refugee reception.
- Institutes Award (south Mediterranean basin)
The Arab higher institute of translation (Algeria)
The deputy-director of King Abdul-Aziz Al Saud Foundation hands over the award to the director of the Spanish committee of refugee reception.
